We are thrilled to announce that we are expanding our Race to World First (RWF) coverage to keep you up-to-date and informed with written coverage of everything that’s happening. The RWF is the pinnacle event of World of Warcraft raiding and has always been an exciting time for us here at Raider.IO. Over the last few years, we have seen the RWF explode into a massive global event, and Castle Nathria is looking to be the biggest yet.
Castle Nathria is going to have the largest number of live-streamed RWF events to date. With the sheer volume of live broadcasts and guilds going for glory, it may be overwhelming to keep track. While the Raider.IO leaderboards, APIs, and embeds have been heavily utilized tools in previous races, we are now offering even more. This RWF, we will also be providing timely written updates, kill videos, stream clips, highlights, tweets from the raiders, insights from casters, and more to help you piece together everything happening during such a competitive tier.
Heading up Raider.IO’s RWF Global Coverage will be Starym
, a veteran of the scene who has been writing about world-first raid progress for many years. In addition to being an old-school raider with many World First kills of his own (Kel’Thuzad 1.0, Illidan, Archimonde 1.0 and more), he has been covering the RWF since Cataclysm. In past expansions, Starym provided quick and informative raid progress news for Ensidia
, and Method
. I've been a fan of Starym's Race to World First coverage for many years, so we are delighted to have him on board with Raider.IO to provide a new level of Global Coverage.
“Joining the team at Raider.IO and heading up the RWF Global Coverage was a no-brainer for me! I have loved the high-end raiding scene in WoW ever since I was a part of it myself back in Vanilla and TBC. Seeing it (finally) develop into a big-time esport is amazing and I am honored to be a part of it. I have always been a fan of the work done by Jah and everyone else at Raider.IO—especially how they include the Chinese guilds on their leaderboards, since China has always played a huge role in the RWF. My colleague Warriorsari and I will be keeping you updated on everything that happens live with coverage from all of the live-streamed events, behind-the-scenes progression, social media, and more!”
Castle Nathria and future Shadowlands raids will certainly be exciting, especially after the giant shakeup in the most recent RWF for Ny’alotha, the Waking City
when North American guild Complexity-Limit
unseated long-time reigning champions, Method
. Competing in this race are new World Champions and even some old staples who are returning under new banners. The past expansion has also shown us that there are many more guilds now vying for that top spot, upending what at one time was perceived to be an almost stagnant, singular guild-dominated competition.
At Raider.IO, we have always strived to help make following the RWF more intuitive and easily accessible for all players. For Castle Nathria and future raids, we are hoping to expand the audience of the RWF, and that includes expanding our coverage. We are all excited for the race to begin and we have a ton of Race to World First content to share with you over the coming weeks!
Our Race to World First coverage starts NOW! Please keep your eyes peeled for our articles leading up to the Mythic release of Castle Nathria and our live Global Coverage starting on December 15th.
