Karl Mark, humble bûcheron de la forêt cramoisie de Drustvar, voit sa vie basculer lors de la quatrième grande guerre, où les forces de la Horde ravagent son paisible foyer, emportant son frère Edric.
Consumé par le désespoir, Karl se lance dans une quête désespérée pour le ramener à la vie. Guidé par un amour inébranlable, il explore les recoins les plus sombres du monde à la recherche de pouvoirs occultes.
Dans sa quête, il découvre la magie des Drust, qu'il utilise pour renforcer ses armes et affronter les dangers. Obsédé par son objectif, il sacrifie peu à peu son humanité pour maîtriser cette magie interdite. Chaque balancement de sa hache imprégnée de magie drust témoigne de sa détermination et de son alliance avec les anciens esprits.
Malgré les avertissements et les conséquences, Karl persiste, portant dans son cœur le fardeau de la perte et l'espoir tenace de retrouver son frère perdu.
