The Weekly Route: Tyrannical, Inspiring, Quaking, and Tormented

This week’s affixes are Tyrannical, Inspiring, Quaking, and Tormented.

This is a relatively favorable affix combination, though you’ll need to make sure you have a plan for some of the tougher Inspiring combinations - options are basically endless and include knockback effects (to knock the inspiring mob itself away and then land your kick), crowd control, taunts, and line of sight. Before starting the key, check the inspiring mobs on MDT first (change the week to an inspiring week if it’s not already set to one) and give it a quick look to see what you need to plan for!

The Weekly Routes

De Other Side [back to top]

Death Speaker pulls with Inspring tend to be the biggest challenge in terms of tank damage - you can sometimes set it up so that the Death Speaker isn’t affected by the inspiring if you kite, but you may end up needing to put some defensives onto the tank to help them survive a few uninterruptible casts.

Halls of Atonement [back to top]

The primary danger of this dungeon is likely going to be Echelon for most groups, so make sure you have every single cooldown ready for it! If you’re planning to invis straight to him after the first boss, then that often means that you need to hold your second set of cooldowns.

Mists of Tirna Scithe [back to top]

We’re continuing to offer the route with skips that features a difficult to execute skip at the start of the dungeon - this is by far the highest fail-rate skip in any of our routes, so take care that you understand it and practice it a little on M0 to make sure you aren’t walking near any of the true-sight mobs during it! The payoff is solid but not worth attempting if you aren’t confident you can do it reliably.

Big pulls towards the end of the dungeon are complicated by Inspiring - you’ll need to CC these mobs beforehand in order to kick all the heals and shields in these pulls, or just focus them down very quickly!

Plaguefall [back to top]

Remember that you can grab Incinerator Arkolath before Doctor Ickus to get another anima power for that fight.

Sanguine Depths [back to top]

Almost every pull in this dungeon contains Inspiring enemies - most have dangerous but not inherently lethal casts that will be protected by this affix. You can therefore attack this affix in a few different ways - focused damage, crowd control, or defensives - but all of them are costly either in terms of difficulty or time, so consider avoiding this dungeon if you don’t need it this week.

Spires of Ascension [back to top]

The big Inspiring wipe happens just before the first boss if you don’t CC the Inspiring Mender as it protects the CC-immune Goliath’s fairly lethal cast.

The Necrotic Wake [back to top]

A useful tip for Amarth is to have your tank pick up the spear beforehand and spear Amarth on pull, when Incinerator Arkolath is around 30% health, aimed in such a way that it pierces and hits both. The tank is ideal for this since it generates huge threat!

Theater of Pain [back to top]

Bloodlust for time efficiency is best on Xav, as it can remove banner casts from the fight and reduce the total amount of damage you’ll need to do. Gorechop is another good lust as it’s a difficult encounter that can drain your resources, as is Mordretha, potentially below 50%, for similar reasons.
