The Weekly Route: Tyrannical, Inspiring, Necrotic, and Prideful

This week’s affixes are Tyrannical, Inspiring, Necrotic, and Prideful.

A brutal combination of affixes, this week will challenge every player who dares venture into dungeons, but none more than the tanks, who will bear the brunt of the Necrotic affix while also being the default coordinators against the Inspiring affix. Anything that you can do as a non-tank to help your tank this week will be greatly appreciated, including taking on some of the responsibility to manage interrupts and figure out how to handle Inspiring in each pull.

The Weekly Routes

De Other Side [back to top]

Many of the inspiring pulls in this dungeon are especially tricky due to a lot of natural CC immunity so come in to each of those pulls with a plan for the affix. You can’t really afford to go into any of the bosses without all of your cooldowns either, due to the combination of Tyrannical and Necrotic.

Halls of Atonement [back to top]

Even though it’s Tyrannical/Necrotic, this dungeon provides ample opportunity for your tank to drop stacks on every single boss fight as they all spend time in cast sequences. The trash, on the other hand, can be very tough, so kite early and often against it.

Mists of Tirna Scithe [back to top]

This is another great choice for a weekly key, as it is basically every week. You’ll want to ensure you have cooldowns and bloodlust for the first and last bosses, but the good news is that none of these bosses pose too much extra threat with the addition of Necrotic. One tip is to consider delaying the interrupt of consumption on the last boss until your tank has dropped stacks, if you can survive the group-wide damage.

Plaguefall [back to top]

In the trash pulls where the mobs die to the dungeon, you’re going to want to do everything you can to minimize Necrotic stacks near the start of the pull such that you can then afford to take a lot of auto-attacks without needing to run away while you’re carefully positioning the mobs so that they’ll die to the dungeon.

Sanguine Depths [back to top]

Several bosses are tough with Tyrannical alone active, let alone Necrotic. To give yourself the best chance of success, you should plan ahead and make sure that you are doing everything you need to do on the trash pulls leading up to the bosses such that you don’t have to spend cooldowns or defensives on those pulls and instead have everything available for the boss.

Spires of Ascension [back to top]

This week in particular, many pulls in this dungeon are extremely tricky due to Inspiring, so make sure you’re planning for the affix before you get in combat! Several pulls will require clever planning to defeat - the fastest strategy will be to separate mobs to land key interrupts on the fly.

The Necrotic Wake [back to top]

Good use of weapons can make this dungeon a lot easier this week - saving them for bosses and pulling packs more slowly is a great idea if you have the time to spare as well, though this will be less feasible if you’re doing keys at a level where the timer can pose a threat.

Theater of Pain [back to top]

Tyrannical Necrotic boss fights are likely to pose a serious threat in this dungeon to your tank - look for opportunities to help them drop stacks by doing stuff like CC-ing or off-tanking adds on the Gorechop encounter.
