The Weekly Route: Tyrannical, Bolstering, Necrotic, and Prideful

This week’s affixes are Tyrannical, Bolstering, Necrotic, and Prideful.

This combination of affixes is brutal for high keys - Bolstering slows down the trash section, and the bosses are also extended with the addition of Tyrannical. Necrotic then comes into the picture and makes both trash and bosses far more lethal to the tank. Fortunately, Prideful doesn’t interact with either Bolstering or Necrotic - it doesn’t gain or grant Bolstering stacks and it won’t stack Necrotic onto your tank. If you fail to drop combat before the Pride spawns, however, you will not lose your Necrotic stacks instantly like you normally do!

This week we also have a small set of nerfs to Sanguine Depths - we’ll discuss them more in the dungeon’s section below!

Since last week, many routes have received minor to moderate changes, so it’s worth re-downloading them this week!

The Weekly Routes

De Other Side [back to top]

Bolstering is inherently challenging in this dungeon, as most packs contain enemies of different health totals. One thing in particular to watch out for is the Risen Warlords - if you don’t have a soothe, you will not be able to kill them until their enrage falls off, which will be lined up with several bolstering stacks making them very lethal.

Halls of Atonement [back to top]

This is generally one of the easiest dungeons to run, and this week is no different - just watch out for the tank picking up a bunch of Necrotic stacks on Echelon if you silence the adds but don’t use other CC on them or kill them quickly! Even though it’s Tyrannical week instead of Fortified, you still need to respect the trash, especially the Vicious Gargons!

Mists of Tirna Scithe [back to top]

This is a fantastic dungeon for the week - beside a few pulls near the end of the dungeon, there are few pulls that pose natural Bolstering problems, and as the only three boss dungeon in the expansion it’s a natural pick for Tyrannical week - just be ready to blast Ingra Maloch during the burn phase or it can take a very long time.

Plaguefall [back to top]

Tyrannical Necrotic Plaguefall can be a very challenging experience, as all of the bosses are difficult already, and some of them can really threaten your tank. Proper cooldown and prideful setups will be helpful, but if the key level is high enough you will be in for a slog either way.

Sanguine Depths [back to top]

This week, Sanguine Depths received a few nerfs. Many of the most deadly effects in the dungeon remain unchanged, however, so you should still be very cautious in this dungeon and it remains one of the toughest options.

Spires of Ascension [back to top]

Bolstering is the operative affix in this dungeon, as there are several pulls with extra beefy targets and/or priority targets that can become Bolstering problems. If you can manage those, the good news is that every boss offers natural Necrotic drops for your tank!

The Necrotic Wake [back to top]

Remember that Flesh Crafters do not hit any harder with their thrown cleavers based on their bolstering stacks, but they can still be useful to help you kill packs if you’re careful! Consider keeping them rooted out of Bolstering range, and make sure their cleavers hit the highest health targets, or just kill them off and don’t worry about it.

Theater of Pain [back to top]

This dungeon is naturally quite easy to handle Bolstering in - most packs contain similarly sized enemies and not many of them. Be ready for some tough Tyrannical Necrotic boss fights, as many of the bosses melee quite hard - try to reset stacks as a tank when they start casting by creating some distance and kiting for a few seconds once they finish.
