Once, he was Sir Yaain of Lordaeron, an elite paladin of the Silver Hand — a brother-in-arms to Sir Irodin Dawnsworn, and Sir Venkova the Ash Melter. Together, they were legends — the last light standing against the Scourge’s early tide.

But light breaks...

Yaain fell into an ambush led by the Lich King himself, who was determined to claim the relentless fury of the Silver Hand's champion. Surrounded, Yaain fought alone for three hours, leaving thousands of undead torn asunder, his armor drenched in gore. His sword clashed in titanic duels against Falric and Marwyn, former royal guards of Lordaeron who had followed Arthas into damnation. Only when his blade had dulled from sheer slaughter did his body finally fall.

The Lich King saw the fire in him — and denied him death.

Reborn as an Unholy Death Knight, Yaain became a weapon of rot and vengeance, his memories twisted, his hammer replaced by a rune-blade etched in suffering. No longer a servant of the Light, he carved his name across the living and the damned alike.

At Light’s Hope, he broke free of the Scourge’s grasp. Now a knight of the Ebon Blade, he fights not for redemption, but to wage war on death itself. Clad in blackened armor, eyes aglow with blue fire, Yaain seeks no forgiveness.

He is no longer a man. He is a reckoning.
And he remembers everything.
