Play Like the Pros: Import This Week's High Mythic+ Routes



Do you love Mythic Plus (Mythic+) but are too busy throughout the week between school, work, family, or raiding to see what routes the top players are running on streams?

We’ve got you covered with our new series: Play Like the PROS!

Today, we share some of the advanced Mythic+ routes that we have seen on Twitch streams this week to help you optimize your weekend key pushing sessions! Read on to import dungeon routes by the pros and maybe learn some new tech.

ALGETH’AR ACADEMY



Dungeon Run: Algeth'ar Academy +26
Team: Noobadin, Clefabled, Banshers, Hawwkdh, Nataleya




We had the privilege of speaking to Banshers for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • With it being Bolstering, pulling the entirety of the Overgrown Ancient area isn’t as feasible so we opt to lust immediately on the bridge pull before Vexamus since that’s the only way to get 4 bloodlusts.
  • The Arcane Ravager has a lot more health than the other mobs around Vexamus so we let it Bolster and just passively cleave it across multiple pulls. Since we’re line of sighting every Vicious Ambush it doesn’t really serve as a threat while we deal with the other enemies.
  • We U-turn immediately after Vexamus to go back to the Overgrown Ancient because we aren’t interested in any the mobs on the far side of the map when we can get the rest of our enemy forces more efficiently in front of the Echo of Dora’gosa.

COURT OF STARS



Dungeon Run: Court of Stars +27
Team: Squishvegan, Aerith, Junkratxd, Narintu, Shadarek




We had the privilege of speaking to Shadarek for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • The route in Court of Stars has to be a bit variable based on how the item/buff spawns play out before the second boss. In this specific run, a stray Onyx Annulet proc pulled an extra pack, throwing our count off just as we finished the first boss. The 10% Damage Increase orb was our DPS buff spawn this key which our Evoker was able to grab during the suicide skip after first boss while we did the docks pull, saving time.
  • Our comp wasn't particularly good in synergy, but a large benefit of it was our access to stops for dangerous casts. This allowed us to easily play around the Infernal Imps roaming patrols and spawns on the second boss. In general, the amount of AoE stops we had also trivializes frontals on the Docks pull and stops required on the Watchful Inquisitor’s Eye Storm casts.
  • Most damage done by trash in Court of Stars is preventable. This allows for larger than expected pulls. However, Bolstering makes the timing of chain pulls a lot more important. Typically, pulling a pack on top of Felbound Enforcers is required to be time efficient, but dropping their health lower before pulling a pack in is important this week.
  • The largest pain point on Fortified weeks is Baalgar the Watchful. Positioning is key to be properly spread on every Impending Doom cast, as it is ideal to instantly dispel one debuff before it ticks and have a defensive on the player with the other. With this composition, Evoker can help with Zephyr on a set to reduce the damage of the Impending Doom explosion and Time Dilation on a player who lacks a defensive to remove the risk of death. Rogue, Monk, and Havoc all have great defensive power against the magic damage hit from Baalgar as well, helping to minimize the risk of this mini-boss.
  • While Talixae Flamewreath is less dangerous on Fortified, she is the second most dangerous point of the dungeon. All of our DPS specs excel at doing damage to each imp set, but working out a damage rotation to each imp set is ideal to make this boss have significantly less risk of wiping the group.

HALLS OF VALOR



Dungeon Run: Halls of Valor +26
Team: Palbringer, Skånérost, Sodapr, Vadandh, Wildicute


Bloodlust Timings: 1st pull, Hyrja, Steeljaw Grizzlies, Odyn 2nd intermission



We had the privilege of speaking to Palbringer for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • First rule of Bolstering is you never chain packs.
  • On this route the Paladin tank has an important job. He has to kick most of the priority targets, usually Thundercallers, while the Shadow Priest backs up melee players on Mystics and our Holy Paladin did Runecarvers with the Mage.
  • As a tank, make sure to do backsteps on Shieldmaiden and Champion pulls. Feel free to move around. Permanent slows will help you out a lot.
  • We did the inversion strategy on Hyrja, but I support whatever the healer's decision is if they’re worried about Eye of the Storm or not.
  • We ideally wanted to snap group 16 into the Storm Drake and play it all together, but we had some mistakes that prevented it from happening.
  • On the Ebonclaw Worg pull, make sure your ranged players know the safe spot beside Fenryr’s cave. If they’re there the wolves won’t jump, they'll only clap the tank and you can kite them in a big circle. Personally as a Paladin I use my Sentinel then Divine Toll, and when they stack I have the Final Stand Bubble taunt before I call for a stun and run away. On the very next pull it can be nice to have a Blessing of Freedom or Tiger’s Lust to prevent the constant slow from the Steeljaw Grizzlies’ charge.
  • Pre-planning all your beers so you can pull all 4 Kings at once is the most optimal strategy at the end.

RUBY LIFE POOLS



Dungeon Run: Ruby Life Pools +26
Team: Palbringer, Skånérost, Sodapr, Vadandh, Wildicute


Bloodlust Timings: 1st pull, Double pull on ring, High Channeler Ryvati



We had the privilege of speaking to Palbringer for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • The main idea of this route is skipping both drakes. To do that you’ve got to play a little more count in the starting area and not skip any of the packs upstairs. On Kokia Blazehoof, you’ll just kite towards Flamegullet but keep it tight enough to not reach the beginning of his patrol.
  • The reason we play all the casters at the start is to be able to go left past the 2nd Primal Juggernaut into the 1st boss room by crowd controlling just 1 Chillweaver.
  • Once your Bloodlust is back up on the ring, double pull into the next Blazebound Destroyer if possible to get the most value out of it.
  • Always focus the Blazebound Destroyers first because any amount of Bolstering on Inferno can cause a wipe. The same idea with High Channeler Ryvati and her Lightning Storm, but you’ll probably have to start the pull with the Warriors in crowd control to prevent them from dying first.

SHADOWMOON BURIAL GROUNDS



Dungeon Run: Shadowmoon Burial Grounds +28
Team: Snerdadin, Ayije, Enycia, Finduzz, Løutus




We had the privilege of speaking to Ayije for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • Shadowmoon Burial Grounds is considered a very easy key that most people choose to do their weekly keys in, however on high Fortified it has a number of challenging pulls that very quickly can go out of control. While the timer is lenient, multiple wipes very often mean that it will be depleted.
  • Since we are playing without a Rogue, we used max rank invisibility potions a second before the key started so we could skip the fairly inefficient first pack of the dungeon. The second pack is very dangerous so we chose to skip it as well and save our cooldowns. Skipping it is as simple as Mind Soothing the first mob of the pack and hugging the edge of the wall on the right, or using another invisibility potion.
  • The first pull we are playing consists of all the skitterlings from the top and bottom as well as the pack with the Shadowmoon Bone-Mender, that is later chained to the boss. You can use your bloodlust on this pull, or save it for the boss fight.
  • In order to skip the two Shadowmoon Exhumers after the first boss, we Mind Soothe both of them (yay for Priest utility) and hug the wall on the left, jumping over the branch on the ground. This way we can get to Nhallish without pulling anything. On the boss, we are often triggering traps that spawn additional mobs, as Enhancement Shamans gain damage from having more mobs in the pull.
  • The spider pulls require assigned interrupts, as one Necrotic Burst going through very often results in a wipe. We are often finishing parts of some packs and chaining them to next pulls, even on Bolstering week, especially to the first Carrion Worm before Bonemaw.
  • Using the Demon Hunter Glide, we are able to pull the last pack of spiders past Bonemaw’s arena wall that is inaccessible to most classes.

TEMPLE OF THE JADE SERPENT



Dungeon Run: Temple of the Jade Serpent +26
Team: Noobadin, Clefabled, Banshers, Hawwkdh, Nataleya


Bloodlust Timings: 1st pull, Shambling Infester in Courtyard, Last pull



We had the privilege of speaking to Banshers for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • Some great Hunter tech for this dungeon is to run Sentinel Owl to line of sight Tainted Ripples and Sha Eruptions without losing DPS throughout the dungeon. If you have another ranged DPS with you, consider spending another talent point for their sake to line of sight with you if you’re in an organized group.
  • Our 2nd lust timing is later than usual because we feel like it’s more important to quickly deal with the Shambling Infester in the courtyard rather than do the 2nd boss slightly faster. Even if you hold it for a few extra minutes you should still have it around the time you need it for either the last pull or the last boss.

THE AZURE VAULT



Dungeon Run: The Azure Vault +27
Team: Snerdadin, Ayije, Enycia, Finduzz, Løutus


Bloodlust Timings: 1st pull, 1st ring pull, Drakonid Breaker on stairs, Umbrelskul



We had the privilege of speaking to Ayije for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • The Azure Vault after all the nerfs it has received is considered as the third easiest to time in high keys, right after SBG and CoS. However, there are still multiple hard pulls, that have either one-shot tank busters or that require properly chained together stops from the whole party.
  • The first pull is pretty standard, we simply trigger the Shrieking Whelp and play the whole first room with the help of lust. It’s important to communicate who is stopping the Piercing Shards casts and in which order. If you are playing a ranged class, it’s nice to position behind the pull to avoid the accidental cast going through.
  • The second pull of the dungeon is chained in a bit of a different way on Bolstering week, usually the healer would pull the four Conjured Lashers from next room, while the rest of the team stays behind and tries to line of sight their first casts. However, this week we chose to pull the additional four Lashers right as the first three were about to die, in order to avoid giving them stacks of Bolstering.
  • Next pull is similar to the first one, as it again requires assigned stops for the Piercing Shards. If you are playing with a Paladin tank, he can use Blessing of Freedom on one of the melee dps players to let them stay in the Crystalline Rupture from the Crystal Thrasher.
  • After Leymor our plan was to snap the Arcane Elementals to the platform where we use our next lust. Our Demon Hunter first pulled them away and then used Shadowmeld, in order to let the whole team walk through. After that he used an invisibility belt to get past himself, and then using the double jump he got to the platform, as he can’t click the book while in combat.
  • We jumped down after that, and that’s where the Stylish Black Parasol toy from Shadowlands comes in handy for the classes that can’t survive the fall damage.
  • Azureblade’s area despite being marked in two pulls on the route is entirely to the discretion of the tank and his cooldowns. The idea is to finish some mobs and keep chaining, however on Bolstering it’s worth it to stop sometimes and actually finish off the mobs that are low HP.
  • With the use of Mind Soothe we are able to skip the first Drakonid Breaker after Azureblade. This way we are able to chain that whole first room into the next one, which normally would be done in two pulls. When it comes to Nullmagic Hornswogs, we don’t care about them getting bolstered, the only goal is to kill the breaker as fast as possible and then chain more frogs.

THE NOKHUD OFFENSIVE



Dungeon Run: The Nokhud Offensive +27
Team: Kíea, Ayije, Glyco, Stovex, Xanathár


Bloodlust Timings: 1st pull, “Waterfall” pull, 1st Cemetery double pull, Balakar Khan



We had the privilege of speaking to Kíea for some insights into his team’s Mythic+ route. Here’s what he had to share:

  • I think the important part of the route is during the Granyth area. You want to avoid focusing the big mobs (Plainstompers/Lancemasters), and just bring them along to the next pack, even if they will bolster 5-6 times. Your tank just has to pop a defensive and live it, that way they enter the next pack with the same health value as the small mobs instead of wasting time evening them out.
  • To start the cemetery we land for a big Bloodlust pull in the middle, and then we just keep chaining from one hill to the other, until we reach the boss. Bolstering is very annoying though, as we have to finish off all the small mobs, leaving only Deathspeakers alive. It doesn't matter much if Deathspeakers bolster, as they will be killed in the next pack and don’t serve a huge threat.
