Founded in 2009, Occasional Excellence is a Mythic progression raiding guild on US-Turalyon. Our adult raiders share a common vision: a skilled, progression raiding environment with a reasonable raiding schedule and relaxed atmosphere. We take raiding seriously and progress quickly, but we refuse to lose sight of what’s truly important – having fun and maintaining balance.

With both retail teams having just eight hours of raiding per week, our philosophy of raiding smarter, not harder has allowed our team to consistently rank among the top two night guilds in the world. We emphasize preparedness to maximize the limited time we spend actually in the instance.

Occasional Excellence attracts top talent from across World of Warcraft. Many of our players have come to us after successful stints with US top 20 guilds, but can no longer raid the long hours those guilds require. Our raiders continue to rank among the top raiders of their class, consistently performing in the 90th percentile or higher.

Unlike many guilds, Occasional Excellence does not run a bench. We utilize planned out rotations to insure that all our raiders get experience on a boss and an opportunity to show what they are capable of. All of our raiders are valued members of our team and are expected to maintain a high level of both performance and preparation. Individually, our raiders stay current with their theorycrafting; as a team, we prepare raid strategy together, welcoming input from everyone on the roster.

Our team members know that great raiders not only have strong output but also strong situational awareness. They consistently reflect on their performance and analyze logs, looking for ways to improve.

Community is everything to us. Members of our team are not only valued for their skill in raid, but also who they are as people outside of it. Our raiders are mature, intelligent, and respectful within our guild and in the broader WoW community.

Occasional Excellence is a very active guild on off nights. Our members can be found in Discord chatting, participating in alt raids, running heroics, completing achievements, playing other games together, or doing PvP any night/day of the week.
