Diddibeau was hatched into chaos.

Her clutch—meant for training and integration into the disciplined ranks of the Dracthyr—was ambushed by hostile forces before her brood could even stand on their own wings. Orphaned before she had a name, she slipped away into the untamed wilds bordering the Dragon Isles, forgotten by both enemy and ally alike.

Alone, she didn’t perish. She adapted.

Diddibeau grew up in the gutters of half-formed settlements and the broken edges of dragonkin society, where rules were suggestions and violence was currency. She scavenged for food, pickpocketed travelers, and ran with smugglers and outcasts. Her claws were fast, her fire reckless, and her heart—untouched by love—burned only with survival.

But the wild life couldn’t protect her forever.

One night, after a botched deal with a band of rogue dragonspawn, Diddibeau found herself ambushed and mortally wounded in the deep forest. Bleeding out, she prepared to die in the same silence she’d lived most of her life in.

Then came the beast.

A massive, twilight-furred dire wolf emerged from the mists—silent, imposing, eyes older than time. It could’ve finished her. Instead, it stood guard. It warded off scavengers and licked her wounds clean. She awoke in a nest of leaves, warmth beside her, pain dulled, and a new fire flickering in her chest.

She named the wolf Duskrend.

In that moment, something inside her shifted. She no longer felt the need to outrun death—she wanted to understand life. She stayed with Duskrend in the wild, learning the old languages of beasts, tracking prey not for profit but for balance. She honed her Dracthyr senses alongside a natural world she had once seen as nothing more than a backdrop to her struggle.

The wild didn’t tame her—it gave her purpose.

Now, Diddibeau walks both paths: the cunning survivor of the streets and the fierce protector of the wild. With Duskrend always at her side, she travels the Dragon Isles and beyond, answering to no banner but the call of nature—and defending it with fang, claw, and bow.
