Nigorizake is a type of sake, a traditional Japanese rice wine. What sets nigorizake apart is its cloudy appearance, which comes from the rice particles that remain in the liquid after fermentation. The term "nigori" actually means "cloudy" or "rough" in Japanese. Unlike regular sake, which is usually clear, nigorizake is only partially filtered, leaving behind rice sediment that gives it a unique texture and flavor.
It's known for its rich, sweet, and creamy taste, often with a slightly fruity aroma. Nigorizake can be enjoyed chilled or at room temperature, making it a versatile choice for various occasions.
